I'm a Newbie!

Well, I am new to this blogging thing. I'm not much of a writer, but I can't stand to keep my thoughts and emotions inside. So here it is...

A Little Bit of Background Information:

I am 22 years old, but feel like I am 40 sometimes.. haha. My boyfriend Steven and I have been high school sweethearts since 2002 and grew up in a small town called Texas City, TX. We have both lived pretty full lives I believe for our age. We were head over heels for one another in high school, but when he graduated in 2004 (a year before me) and headed off to college at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, we were faced with the hardships of learning to balance a relationship with not only distance, but the military as well. In 2005 I then graduated and pursued a normal route of life to college and joined a sorority (Alpha Chi Omega) and so on. It was during my freshmen year that the troubles began in our "picture perfect" world. He had bad thoughts running through his head constantly, by over analyzing me being in a sorority which led to plenty of fights. To make a long story short on all the drama, we broke up my sophomore year of college his junior year at the academy. We remained in contact, but not necessarily friends because neither one of us could bare the thought of hearing about who each of us was dating and so forth. He then graduated the Air Force Academy in 2008 and went on to pilot training at Laughlin AFB in Del Rio, TX.. much closer than Colorado to me. He became immersed in training and I finished up my Bachelors in Business Administration at my college. At this point we still had not gotten back together due to many reasons of being stubborn and not willing to sacrifice. But finally this past November of 2009 we rekindled and are now residing in Tucson, AZ where he will start on his new aircraft the EC-130 in early August.

My Point... haha

So my point to all that is... I am clearly coming from a different lifestyle and world than my boyfriend and best friend of almost 8 years and would love this blog to become a place where many others that have lived this "military lifestyle" can possibly give me advice on things, help me learn to understand the Air Force lingo (haha), and also meet people going through a similar experience. I left all I knew in Texas to come to Arizona to start an adventure with him. My family, friends, and home were everything to me. I am trying to make Arizona my new home, however, it is hard sometimes because my boyfriend isn't here with me right now, he is off in Arkansas for training and also I haven't seemed to meet many potential friends because I am living off base.

I hope this reaches someone and I will be posting normal days stuff on here as well... not a bunch of sad stories I promise!

Thanks for reading!

  1. Hi Jordan! Thanks for stopping by my blog and following! Welcome to the AF Family and I hope you enjoy your new time with us and the blogging community! Being a sig other to an AF member can be the most fun, trying, difficult, exciting, and memorable experience of your life. Yes I know that sounds cliche but it really is. I'm not by any means your typical AF wife. I struggled a lot during my first years and even now, 5 years in I still have my moments. I'll stop rambling now, and say that I'm excited to following along with your blog and getting to know you!
